The Baltimore Ravens are itching to right their wrongs in Week 3.

They’re coming off an extremely disappointing loss to the New Orleans Saints last Sunday, when they completely deflated late and blew a fourth-quarter lead. Against the Dallas Cowboys, they’ll have their chance to get back to their winning ways.

Entering this game, both teams are 1-1. The momentum is carrying in opposite directions, though. The Ravens struggled to maintain consistency on offense and defense in last week’s loss, and the Cowboys lit it up on offense in their win over the Washington Commanders.

Baltimore could expose Dallas’ defense, but make no mistake about it: they’ll have their work cut out for them.

The good news? Nnamdi Madubuike and Teddye Buchanan are set to return from injury. That’s two really good starters from last year’s squad ready to suit back up.

Now, it’s fair to assume they might be limited in Brazil, but they’re game-changing pieces for a defense that is searching for answers after last week. The interior pressure and open-field tackling should see a big boost.

The bad news? Ronnie Stanley won’t be playing. Injuries have been a blemish on his career, and they’ve popped up early in 2026. He couldn’t finish the team’s Week 2 contest and was a DNP all week. In his place, Baltimore is expected to turn to Carson Vinson.

Zay Flowers is also a concern—he’s questionable. He didn’t play against the Saints after re-aggravating a hamstring issue in the season opener and was only able to log limited participation on Friday. It’s looking increasingly likely he’ll miss another game.

The Cowboys will be without three starters on defense. Cobie Durant and Malik Hooker’s absences will leave the secondary looking bare, and they will be without their green dot again as DeMarvion Overshown continues to recover from a hamstring injury.

P.J. Locke was also placed on IR after he tore his plantar fascia against the Commanders. He started in Hooker’s place last week, so now Dallas is down to their third-string safety, Markquese Bell.

That’s four key contributors out. The Cowboys’ defense has been experiencing issues since the start of the year, so the Ravens should have every opportunity to make them look silly.

Storylines to watch for Ravens in Week 3

Suddenly, everyone’s eyes are on Carson Vinson. He’s set to take the field for his first career NFL start. Up to this point, the second-year pro has only played 27 snaps. He’ll draw an easier battle against one of the worst pressure units in the NFL, but the Cowboys have veterans like Rashan Gary and Von Miller who could give the young tackle problems.

Can Baltimore’s secondary rebound? They looked outstanding in Week 1, but Week 2 was a whole different story, especially with their safeties. This defense can’t allow Dak Prescott to get comfortable because if they do, he’s sure to dice them up deep by way of CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. It’s quite possibly the best wide receiver duo the league has to offer.

This new coaching staff needs to adjust. The Ravens were due one atrocious early game under Jesse Minter, Declan Doyle, and Anthony Weaver. Growing pains are bound to happen, and sometimes you need to be punched in the mouth as a bit of a wake-up call. What’s done is done, and this new group needs to prove they’re cut out for the coaching life.

Prediction

This is the game where the Ravens’ offense erupts again as that potent unit fans have quickly grown to love. Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry are as explosive a duo as it gets, and it doesn’t look like the Cowboys have any pieces to truly stop them. Their pass-rush win rate is 29th in the league, and their run-stop win rate is 18th. This offense will look explosive again.

On defense, Baltimore isn’t going to stop Dallas from putting points on the board. Dak Prescott, Javonte Williams, CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and strong pass protection—they’re going to produce whether you like it or not. However, the Ravens have the talent on the field and sidelines to manage the bleeding.

The field conditions at Maracanã Stadium could make this a sloppy game, but when you have the weapons these teams have, points should come fast and furious.
