The Dallas Cowboys weren’t the only ones getting a feel for the playing surface Saturday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
While the NFLPA and others expressed concerns, Pappas said the field crew overcame a few challenges to prepare the playing surface. Since it’s currently spring in Rio, the stadium’s Bermuda grass has been affected by large amounts of rain in the area. A few Cowboys players took the field Saturday in seven-studded cleats, while others were barefoot.
As it stands, the Cowboys and Ravens will face off as planned on Sunday afternoon. Keep up with Watkins and Hoyt as they prepare for Sunday’s kickoff in Rio.
