WASHINGTON (7News) — Kids at Payne Elementary School are getting a surprise visitor on Tuesday afternoon — the Washington Commanders!
The football team will send local students into summer with a memorable end-of-year pep rally.

Students at the Southeast D.C. school will have the chance to meet the players in a series of interactive activities.
The afternoon will include performances by Payne’s cheer team and the team’s Command Force dance team, the Commanders’ mascot Major Tuddy, and trivia sessions with Washington Legends.

DCPS Chancellor Dr. Lewis D. Ferebee and Principal Stephanie Byrd will attend and deliver remarks as the school year draws to a close.
