The Tennessee Titans‘ rebuild is underway. Rookie quarterback Cam Ward is acclimating well and impressing everyone he comes into contact with, the offensive line adjustments should prove helpful, and there are new faces all over the place.
General manager Mike Borgonzi had a handful of goals during the offseason, but the biggest goal was to improve the offense. That meant finding a quarterback, protecting him, and providing him with weapons on the field. One of the weapons they added through the draft was wide receiver Elic Ayomanor, who has been named the Titans’ top summer breakout candidate by Bleacher Report.
Top Summer Breakout Candidate: WR Elic Ayomanor
Based on experience and draft capital, you’d think the Titans will start the season with Calvin Ridley, Tyler Lockett and Van Jefferson as their three starting receivers. Elic Ayomanor might have something to say about that, though.
Ayomanor was a fourth-round pick, but he could easily outplay his draft slot. The 6’2″, 206-pound receiver grew up playing hockey and that shows up in his physicality. He’s not a burner, but his ability as a separator earned a second-round grade and a comparison to Chris Godwin from B/R scout Dame Parson.
If he’s able to showcase some of that in the coming months, he will soon have a nice role in the Titans offense.

Ayomanor only has two years of statistical production at Stanford, but his athleticism, size, physicality, and ability have all been on full display in film, through rookie minicamp, and OTAs.
Despite the presence of Ridley, Lockett, and other veterans in the wide receivers room, Ayomanor has the talent and drive to earn a starting spot. He will definitely be on the field this fall, even if he doesn’t start in Week 1, that doesn’t mean he won’t earn that spot as the season progresses.
