Hill shared a short message on X Monday morning that quickly drew attention across the NFL.
“It’s almost time to get off the couch and get to work 🥹,” Hill wrote.
The New York Post’s Grant Young reported that the message was interpreted as a possible hint about Hill’s next destination.
The 49ers have a clear need at wide receiver after dealing with several injuries.
Mike Evans suffered a rib injury in Sunday’s win over the Arizona Cardinals, while San Francisco has also dealt with injuries involving Ricky Pearsall, De’Zhaun Stribling and Demarcus Robinson.
That situation has naturally made the 49ers an interesting potential landing spot for Hill. If healthy, the veteran could provide quarterback Brock Purdy with another experienced deep threat.
However, there is no confirmed agreement between Hill and San Francisco. The social-media post does not identify his next team.
Hill is also coming off a significant knee injury that involved a dislocation and multiple torn ligaments, including his ACL.
He has been rehabbing for months and previously said his injured left leg still needed to regain strength.
His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has previously indicated that Hill could target a return around October.
Hill’s latest message suggests the timetable may be getting closer, but his medical status remains a concern before any team commits.
Tyreek Hill Has Several Potential Landing Spots
San Francisco is not the only team with a reason to monitor Hill’s recovery.
CBS Sports identified the 49ers, New England Patriots, Minnesota Vikings, Kansas City Chiefs, and Baltimore Ravens as potential landing spots for the veteran receiver.
The Chiefs remain an obvious name because Hill spent six seasons with the team.
He helped the team win a Super Bowl and became one of the league’s most productive receivers before joining Miami in 2022.
Kansas City has also been linked to a possible return of Hill, although no deal has been reported.
The Vikings could also become relevant if Justin Jefferson’s injury creates a larger need at receiver. Minnesota entered the season 3-0, but CBS Sports noted its passing production has been limited.
The Patriots and Ravens were also listed as teams that could have reasons to consider Hill if he becomes available.
The biggest question remains his health. Hill is 32 and returning from a serious multi-ligament knee injury, so teams will need to determine whether his trademark explosiveness has returned.
For now, Hill’s Monday post has restarted the conversation. His message suggests that his comeback could be approaching, but his next team remains unknown.
