On September 29, Rams QB Matthew Stafford appeared on the Week 4 episode of Let’s Go! on Apple Podcasts, where we also saw Peter King and Jim Gray alongside him. During the conversation, the topic of the quarterback’s cameo in Taylor Swift’s video came up, and Stafford credited a family connection for landing the role.

Stafford said, “It was a cool experience. She’s been amazing to get to know and obviously amazing to my wife and my girls. It was kind of that connection that got me involved.”

Although Farrell’s character received most of the attention in the video and earned the most praise and accolades, the experience was especially meaningful for Matthew Stafford’s family, particularly his children, as the NFL quarterback included them in it.

“My girls were there on the set. Got to see how that was all done and how she carries herself.” Stafford added. Later, he praised the experience, saying, “There were some amazing actors and other people there. Just happy to be part of it, it was a really cool experience.”

Talking about the pop star’s video for “Patient Zero,” she released the track on September 25, 2026, as part of her album The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, which features four new songs. Along with Taylor Swift, the video’s main cast includes Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell, while Cara Delevingne and Matthew Stafford also appear in cameos.

For context, although Matthew Stafford and Taylor Swift’s husband, Travis Kelce, play for different NFL teams, they share a decade-long friendship. The two have socialized several times during the offseason, whether through podcast appearances or golfing.
