MIAMI GARDENS — Another week, another look at player propositions available for the Miami Dolphins game.

This is the third season for South Florida Sun Sentinel Dolphins columnist Chris Perkins and Dolphins writer David Furones choosing prop bets. They’ll do it for all 17 regular-season games and keep a running tab on their accomplishments. The Dolphins (0-3) visit the  Minnesota Vikings (3-0) this week at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Before each game, Furones and Perkins will select a “Best Bet” and a “Longshot.” The “Best Bet” selection is a near 50-50 proposition while the “Longshot” is at least +300 or a 3-to-1 probability.

Perkins and Furones don’t actually make these bets (they’re smarter than that). However, you can use this as a guide of which way to go or go against.

After both hit their “Best Bet” in last week’s Dolphins loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, Perk is 2-1 and Furones is 1-2. Neither one has connected on a “Longshot” through three weeks.

Perkins and Furones get their odds from the Hard Rock Bet app. You can also check the Sun Sentinel predictions for Sunday’s overall outlook.

Perk’s Best Bets: Ollie Gordon under 5.5 receiving yards (-110)

I expect Gordon to be a major part of the offense but he’s almost never a factor in the passing game. Yes, the absence of RB De’Von Achane (knee) is a big unknown as far as how the Dolphins’ offense will look. But it’d be a surprise if Gordon is even a factor as a dump-off option on a blitz.

Furones’ Best Bet: Jordan Addison over 62.5 receiving yards (-115)

Star Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson is out. The Dolphins have done a decent job against the run, which will force the Vikings to throw. And Miami’s secondary has also had some miscommunications in coverage, leading to chunk plays through the air. With Jefferson suffering his ankle injury in the first quarter last week in Tampa, Addison ended up targeted nine times for five catches and 90 yards. This doesn’t seem like a daunting number to reach.

Perk’s Longshot: Ollie Gordon anytime TD (+300)

This offense has put together a few drives so perhaps Gordon caps another with a TD. On the other hand, the offense is plagued by penalties on the opponent’s side of the field so a big-play TD might be more likely from the Dolphins, and that doesn’t favor Gordon. It’s a tough choice, but I’m ridin’ with Gordon all the way this week.

Furones’ Longshot: Jaylen Wright anytime TD (+325)

Well played, Perk. I’ll take the other running back that should get more work in Achane’s absence, then. I actually like Wright to be the more active tailback in the split with Gordon, but I agree with Perk that Gordon would be more likely to get the goal-line carries.
