Matchups I like
Our interior DL vs their interior OL – The Raiders guard to guard has been an issue. Tyler Lyndembaum was one of the prized free agent signings of the off season. He hasn’t lived up to the billing. The starting guards grade out poorly . This is a big reason why Jeanty has struggled running the ball. If there was ever a time for our DT’s to shine, it is this game.
Our corners vs their wr’s – Tre Tucker is a speedy deep threat you need to look out for . No one else scare me out of that group. In fact, the second leading wr on the team after Tuckers is Jalen Nailor with 5 catches for 52 yards. This isn’t a unit that should keep Spags up at night.
Matchups I dislike
Our OT’s vs their DE’s – The idea of Crosby , Koonce and Paye vs Benson and Moore is scary. Andy Reid is going to have a big challenge protecting Pat in this game. This might be the biggest advantage LV has in this game. This is what scares me the most in this game.
Brock Bowers vs whoever we send out to cover him – Bowers came back against the saints and had an instant impact. He was uncoverable. Chiefs have had issues with him in the past. He can easily eat this defense up if they aren’t up to staying with him.
My take
Chiefs 27 Raiders 24
Who would have thought when the schedule came out that it would be these two teams fighting for the division lead in this game? The Raiders are a bit of an enigma. They haven’t really been tested yet this season. Aside from Bowers and the pass rush, LV doesn’t really have any huge advantage. In fact, these teams are pretty even statistically. The Chiefs can’t give any freebees the way NO did in the 4th quarter last week. Protecting the ball is critical. They also can’t get into 3rd and longs against this pass rush. Don’t let Bowers beat you. The safeties for LV are good , but the corners are suspect. They can be taken advantage of. Do that and KC should win this game.
