FOXBORO — Patriots wide receiver Efton Chism made the most of his snaps in Sunday’s win over the Bills, and now he’s likely set for more reps in the future.
Head coach Mike Vrabel said Chism should see more game reps as the team deals with injuries at wide receiver.
“Sure, of course. That’s what happens,” Vrabel said. “I mean, guys continue to take advantage of their opportunities. They get more opportunities, and we’ve been finding ways to work Chiz in there previously. It’s a balance, but certainly did a lot of things well, and I know that he’ll continue to do things well for us and continue to know a bunch of different spots.”
Chism caught the Patriots’ game-winning touchdown in the 29-26 victory. Plays prior, he elevated to catch a 19-yard pass to set up his score.
Chism has just four catches for 41 yards and the touchdown this season but has impressed coaches and teammates behind the scenes since entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Eastern Washington in 2025.
He caught three passes for 75 yards as a rookie last season then added one 20-yard catch in the postseason. Chism completed a 16-yard pass to Mack Hollins this season. He’s also returned one punt for 18 yards in 2026. He returned 16 kicks for 383 yards last regular season and three kicks for 68 yards in the playoffs.
A.J. Brown is currently on injured reserve with a high ankle sprain, while Mack Hollins injured his calf on Sunday.
