The New England Patriots‘ impressive win against the Buffalo Bills almost feels like it saved their season, as crazy as that might sound. The Patriots started off the season on the wrong foot, going 1-2.

While New England showed some impressive signs a season ago by making the Super Bowl, things weren’t going well over the first three weeks.

This 29-25 win against Buffalo changed that, hopefully putting them in a position to make the necessary moves to keep competing at a very high level.

Among the problems the Patriots have faced at the start of the season, the offense has been at the top of the priority list. Much of that is because of how quarterback Drake Maye has played, though some have argued that Maye isn’t playing the type of football we’re used to because he lacks receivers around him.

As for whether the Patriots are interested in adding another receiver, head coach Mike Vrabel said the team is willing to explore all options and will do so shortly.

“Sure,” Vrabel said on Monday of adding a new WR, per the team. “Anybody that can help us. We’ll go explore here shortly.”

It’s promising to hear that New England still believes it has a chance to win this season, and it’s the right mindset.

This is still a good Patriots team, despite some disappointing showings against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Seattle Seahawks. We also have to remember that it’s only the fifth week of the season, and New England is only going to get better.

Adding another wide receiver and A.J. Brown’s return will make this team well above average once again.
