Dolphins (0-4) vs. Bengals (2-2): Sunday, 1, FOX

Latest line: Bengals are favored by 6 1/2 points

Chris Perkins, Dolphins Columnist (Season record: 4-0): Bengals 17, Dolphins 14

The Bengals could be without their star wide receivers Ja’Marr Chase (concussion) and Tee Higgins (groin). If one or both don’t play, the Dolphins could pull off the upset, considering the Bengals ranks 31st in the league in rushing. Still, I think I’ve got to see the Dolphins win before I pick them to win.

David Furones, Dolphins Writer (Season record: 3-1): Bengals 24, Dolphins 17

The status of wide receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins plays a huge role. The Dolphins have been keeping games close, and that should be expected again against a 2-2 Bengals team. Cincinnati is struggling to run the ball, but Joe Burrow is still Joe Burrow. He’ll keep drives going and throw plenty. The Miami secondary is communicating better, but this is a tougher matchup if Burrow has his top playmakers. The Dolphins have been inching closer and this game is winnable at home before the bye week, but I still see Cincy pulling it off by a touchdown.

Kathy Laughlin, Sports Editor (Season record: 3-1): Dolphins 17, Bengals 13

The Dolphins came within a couple out-of-bounds inches of winning last week against the undefeated Vikings in Minnesota. Now it’s at Hard Rock Stadium against the 2-2 Bengals. It doesn’t matter that much whether Cinncy’s star receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins can play, they won’t be 100%, anyway. If Miami can just limit the penalties, this could be win No. 1 for the new regime.

Keven Lerner, Assistant Sports Editor (Season record: 4-0): Bengals 23, Dolphins 16

The Dolphins have a decent shot to get their first win of the season against the injury-riddled Bengals. Also, playing at home gives the Dolphins an edge. But Cincinnati, possibly without its top three receivers, still has enough talent with Joe Burrow to keep the Dolphins winless. But it should be a close game. The difference could be former Dolphins tight end Mike Gesicki, who figures to play a more prominent role in the passing game with the Bengals hurting at wide receiver. The Dolphins have yet to score more than 13 points in a game.

Steve Svekis, Assistant Sports Editor (Season record: 3-1): Bengals 23, Dolphins 20

A Dolphins defense that can pressure the quarterback, as happened in Minnesota, can be a solid NFL unit, even with it teeming with inexperience. Still, Joe Burrow has enough talent despite the injuries at WR and should be able to scratch out enough points at Hard Rock Stadium. One plus for Miami is that they are going to start playing teams who should be a little more vulnerable on defense than the Vikings, Chiefs, 49ers and Raiders have been.
