FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — After opening the season with three straight wins, the Las Vegas Raiders are suddenly searching for answers.

Las Vegas suffered its second consecutive loss Sunday, falling 45–17 to the New England Patriots in a game that exposed continued struggles on both sides of the ball.

The Raiders entered the matchup hoping to get their ground game going, with rookie running back Ashton Jeanty dealing with a foot injury leading up to kickoff. Jeanty ultimately suited up but finished with just 27 rushing yards on 10 carries.

As a team, Las Vegas managed only 38 yards on the ground, averaging 2.1 yards per carry.

Meanwhile, the Patriots had little trouble moving the football, piling up 536 yards of total offense, including 371 through the air and 165 on the ground.

New England repeatedly found success against the Raiders’ secondary, while Las Vegas struggled to generate consistent pressure and contain the Patriots’ rushing attack.

The Raiders showed promise early, answering New England’s opening touchdown with a 13-yard touchdown pass from Kirk Cousins to tight end Brock Bowers to tie the game at seven.

But the momentum didn’t last.

The Patriots pulled away as the Raiders struggled to sustain drives offensively and get stops defensively.

Bowers was one of the few bright spots for Las Vegas, finishing with eight receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown. However, the tight end also lost his first career fumble in the third quarter, adding to an already difficult afternoon.

Cousins finished 19-of-28 passing for 243 yards and one touchdown before rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza entered late in the fourth quarter.

Mendoza completed six of his eight passes for 48 yards in his appearance.

Running back Dylan Laube also recorded his first career touchdown on a two-yard run in the fourth quarter.

The loss drops Las Vegas to 3–2 on the season after a promising undefeated start.

For the Raiders, the biggest concerns remain the inability to establish a consistent rushing attack and a defense that struggled to slow down New England.

With back-to-back losses now behind them, Las Vegas will look to regroup and find answers before its next matchup.
