Week 6 of the NFL season is here, and the Dallas Cowboys are making moves before their matchup with the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.

The team announced it signed running back Emari Demercado to the active roster, added offensive lineman Nick Leverett to the practice squad and released cornerback Alex Austin from the practice squad.

Running back Demercado was previously waived on Oct. 8 to create a spot for offensive lineman Tyler Smith. Smith was activated from injured reserve and returned to action in Week 5 against the Buccaneers. Before that, Demercado, a TCU product, was claimed by the Cowboys off waivers on Aug. 31.

Offensive lineman Leverett was released on Monday, before being added to the practice squad. The Cowboys had signed Leverett to their active roster from the practice squad after Tyler Smith was placed on injured reserve. Leverett played both center and guard for Dallas during the preseason.

Prior to being released, cornerback Austin was added to the practice squad Sept. 30, alongside cornerback Tyrek Funderburk and safety Juanyeh Thomas, as the team dealt with injuries at all three levels of the defense.
