During the second quarter of the Kansas City Chiefs’ Week 6 battle with the Los Angeles Chargers, the score was 9-3. The Chiefs’ defense had just gotten a stop when Chargers quarterback scrambled up the middle and past Kansas City’s pass rush before linebacker Nick Bolton stuffed him short of the chains.

After a commercial break, the CBS broadcast went to sideline reporter Melanie Collins for a quick report from the Chiefs’ sideline. She said that defensive tackle Chris Jones and defensive line coach Joe Cullen have been in a “screaming match” on the sideline. “Frustrations boiling over down here for the Chiefs’ defense.”

Trent Green, CBS game analyst and former Chiefs quarterback, shared that “[Cullen] and Chris have a great relationship. [I don’t think] Chris liked the fact that he put his hand on his shoulder.”

The camera showed Jones pushing Cullen’s hand away from his shoulder while Jones was sitting on the bench. To that point in the game, the Chiefs’ defense hadn’t recorded a sack. We’ll see if that fire translates to the field for Kansas City’s defense.
