The New Orleans Saints seem to be finding new ways to keep the fan base on our toes and attempt to take away the joy of winning a game. But even in this game of runs, the Saints were able to withstand a late fourth-quarter explosion from the Giants to hold on and leave New York/New Jersey with the win.
Throughout the game, one player stood out and remained consistent, even while the team was riding a wave of inconsistency. That player was Martin Emerson Jr., who is the Canal Street Chronicles Game MVP.
Emerson was able to get more reps as Kool-Aid McKinstry was sidelined with a migraine, and he did not disappoint.
Emerson finished second on the team in tackles with seven, all of which were solo, and even recorded a tackle for loss. He also had four pass breakups and two key interceptions, one from each Giants quarterback.
There was a point in the game when it felt like whenever the defense needed a play to be made, Emerson stepped up and made it happen.
Hopefully, after a performance like this one, he will get more opportunities to grow within this secondary and showcase his ability.
