It’s National Teen Driver Safety Week!
Local authorities say motor vehicle crashes remain a leading cause of death for teens across the nation.
USAA teamed up with Carolina Panthers defensive lineman Derrick Brown Tuesday to raise awareness about safe driving habits and the risks young drivers face behind the wheel.
Brown participated in a ‘Jaws of Life’ demonstration with members of the Charlotte Fire Department, simulating the rescue of a crash victim to show the potentially life-altering consequences of reckless driving.
Brown says it’s important to encourage responsible decision-making on the road.
National Teen Driver Safety Week runs through October 24.
