After thinking they may get a couple extra defensive pieces back Monday against the Eagles, it turns out that’s not the case for the Cowboys.

Linebacker Marist Liufau and safety P.J. Locke, who were listed as questionable on the final injury report ahead of Monday night’s game, are not traveling with the Cowboys to Philadelphia and will miss the game, the team announced. The pair of defenders will remain in injured reserve with a designation for return.

Both players had their 21-day practice windows opened this week. This means that, while both players can practice without counting against the 53-man roster limit, Dallas has 21 days to activate each player. At the end of the 21 days, the team has to either activate the player or put him on season-ending IR.

Despite Locke and Liufau not being able to go, Dallas is getting a couple of key starters back Monday against the Eagles in linebacker DeMarvion Overshown and cornerback Cobie Durant.
