Somehow, even when the Los Angeles Chargers are not playing due to the team being on a bye week, they can’t escape criticism.

This team has begun the season 0-6; Justin Herbert is having the worst season of his career; the coaching is bad; and the entire team looks a step behind in every game. But the good news is that they can’t lose this week- well, at least on the field.

Chargers Remain the Only Winless Team in the NFL

Entering Week 7, only two NFL teams were winless: The Miami Dolphins and the Chargers. With Los Angeles on a bye, they had no opportunity to get their first win of the season, but surprisingly, the Dolphins did.

Against the New York Jets, a team with two wins but its own struggles this season, the Dolphins squeaked out a victory. With how embarrassing the season has gone, a bye week should have been time off for fans, but the Dolphins’ win only made things worse.

After it was official that the Chargers were the only winless team in the NFL, many had reactions:

PFN’s X account reacted to the the Chargers catching strays after the Dolphins’ win, “Catching strays on the bye week”.

One Kansas City Chiefs fan was disgusted to see their division rival become the worst team in the NFL: “This is nasty work.”

One Jets fan joked that the Chargers will likely get their first win of the season because they still have to play New York, “They play the Jets in a little bit they’ll be fine”.

One Las Vegas Raiders fan joined the joke and couldn’t hold back their laughter, “🤣 it’s their bye week and the chargers still catching L’s”.

A fan couldn’t respond jokingly and simply said, “Genuinely horrible.”

One fan believes the Chargers are tanking to get the potential top player in the draft, WR Jeremiah Smith: “They’ve been tanking to get Jeremiah Smith.”

A Washington Commanders fan sarcastically said, “Who wudda thunk they’d be a dumpster fire? I didn’t”

The Chargers have not had a great season, and with how bad they have been, it makes sense why they are winless.

The offense ranks last in PFN’s Offensive Impact Metric, while the defense is having a decent season, ranking 13th. Defensively, the team hasn’t been able to overcome its offensive issues, and it looks like that will continue.
