Miami Dolphins quarterback Malik Willis had a breakout performance in week seven against the New York Jets. He completed 14 of 21 passes for 208 yards and two touchdowns while adding 37 rushing yards and a touchdown with his legs. He had zero turnovers and finished the clash with a 130.7 passer rating — his highest of the season so far.
Oh… and the Dolphins won their first game of the year!
It wasn’t just Dolphins fans who noticed how well Willis played this past weekend. For his stellar game, Willis has been nominated for the FedEx Air & Ground Player of the Week award.

Willis will look to build on his first great game as a member of Miami’s football team this upcoming Sunday when the Dolphins welcome the New England Patriots to Hard Rock Stadium in what should be a difficult test. New England’s defense is currently ranked 10th in yards allowed per game (315.7) and 9th in scoring defense (20.4). However, prior to Sunday’s dismantling, the Jets’ defense had been ranked 5th in total yards allowed and 5th in points allowed per game themselves.
