The 2027 NFL Draft is still a ways away, but that isn’t going to stop us from taking a deep look at the upcoming class and which teams could pick at the top. Unfortunately, despite a lot of hype heading into the college football season, this year’s class at the quarterback position might not be nearly as good as some initially thought.

And given how out of hand the NIL situation has gotten, it feels like the talent pools coming into the NFL are getting weaker and weaker. For the teams that are competing to win a Super Bowl, this isn’t something they have to worry about right now.

But for the teams that need major personnel help, specifically at the QB position, things are not looking up. Let’s dive into the order of the first 10 picks now that Week 8 is coming to an end.

Updated 2027 NFL Draft order at the top following Week 8 action1. Los Angeles Chargers (0-7)

The only winless team in the sport, the Los Angeles Chargers currently hold the first overall pick and would surely take Jeremiah Smith from Ohio State, right? Nothing has worked for the Chargers this year, and, unfortunately, QB Justin Herbert looks like a shell of his former self, so you almost wonder if Los Angeles would consider a more major move than Smith.

2. Tennessee Titans (1-7)

The Tennessee Titans played well in Week 8, but there really isn’t such a thing as a moral victory in the NFL. The Titans are still a bad, perhaps atrocious team and already traded Jeffery Simmons for a pair of first-round picks. While some might argue that QB Cam Ward should get the 2027 season, he’s really not taken much of a step forward from his rookie year, and if the right QB is available, would the Titans make the move?
