While football is his main focus, Mahomes has also been involved in a handful of business ventures off the field. Whether it is donating $5 million to his alma mater Texas Tech, for the program’s South End Zone project, or buying a stake in multiple professional sports teams, Mahomes has been quite active when it comes to his off-field ventures.

On Tuesday, one of the investments that he and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, made in the National Women’s Soccer League’s Kansas City Current, saw a major development.

As revealed by Forbes, the club is now valued at $275 million, the second-highest valuation throughout the NWSL.

The Mahomes couple first got involved with the club, which is currently atop the NWSL table with a record of 8-0-2, back in 2023, according to The Athletic.

The move made him the first active NFL player to have equity in an NWSL club, with his ownership group also featuring two-time Super Bowl-winning defensive lineman Chris Long.

Following the revelation of the news, Mahomes took to Instagram to spread the word of the club’s tremendous accomplishment.

In addition to having the second-highest valuation in the league, the Current also generated the highest revenue in the NSWL, according to Forbes.

With the Chiefs frequently in contention, the Royals in the mix in the American League Wild Card race and the Current leading the way in the NWSL, it seems like the perfect time to be a Kansas City Fan to say the least.
