The Patriots celebrated their young star on Thursday, sharing a message on X that read, “October belongs to @DrakeMaye2.” Maye was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Month after delivering an outstanding performance throughout October.

The recognition reflects how much the third-year quarterback has improved as New England continues its push toward the postseason. Maye helped the Patriots finish October with a 3-1 record, giving the franchise another reason to feel encouraged about its direction.

Drake Maye Powers Patriots With Outstanding October

Maye put together impressive numbers during the month, completing 90 of 134 passes for 1,199 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also finished with a 119.0 passer rating, the best mark in the NFL during October.

His production was particularly important because the Patriots needed consistency from their quarterback to maintain their momentum. Maye delivered that while helping New England collect victories against Buffalo, Las Vegas, the New York Jets and Miami during the season’s middle stretch.

The award is also a significant milestone for the franchise. According to the award announcement, Maye is the first Patriots player to earn AFC Offensive Player of the Month since Tom Brady received the honor in November 2017.

New England now turns its attention to a challenging matchup against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, November 8. The Patriots will host Green Bay at Gillette Stadium, hoping to build on their recent success.

Maye’s latest recognition adds another highlight to his development in New England. More importantly, the Patriots have a quarterback playing at a level that gives them confidence heading into the second half of the season.
