The Miami Dolphins are bringing in another big body on the defensive line who can compete for a roster spot and playing time come the fall season.
The Dolphins signed defensive tackle Ben Stille, who previously spent time in Miami in 2022, back onto the offseason roster, the team announced Thursday morning.

Stille, who is 6-feet-4, 296 pounds, was originally an undrafted free agent signing of the Dolphins out of Nebraska for coach Mike McDaniel’s first rookie class in 2022.
He did not make the active roster that year, but from the practice squad, he was called up for and appeared in one game for the Dolphins. Later that season, Stille was poached by the Cleveland Browns, signed to their active roster, appearing in six games the second half of the year and even starting one.
Stille spent 2023 with the Arizona Cardinals and split time in 2024 between the Cardinals and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In 18 career games, he has 17 tackles and two sacks.

The Dolphins defensive line has players competing for roles after veteran Zach Sieler, who is coming off back-to-back 10-sack seasons, and rookie first-round pick Kenneth Grant. Miami also has returning nose tackle Benito Jones and defensive tackle Matt Dickerson. Later in the past draft, the team took Jordan Phillips in the fifth round and Zeek Biggers in the seventh round. Others vying to make the roster are Matthew Butler and Alex Huntley.
The unit lost potential future Hall of Famer Calais Campbell and valuable rotational defensive tackle Da’Shawn Hand this offseason.
Miami did not have to make room for Stille, as there was a roster spot available following offensive tackle Terron Armstead’s official placement on the retired list Monday.
The Dolphins are wrapping up voluntary organized team activities this week before a three-day mandatory minicamp next week.
