Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, received major news recently.

The Mahomeses are both part of the ownership group of the Kansas City Current, a soccer club that currently plays in the National Women’s Soccer League. Brittany Mahomes has been part of the team’s original ownership group — along with Kansas City businesspeople Angie Long and Chris Long — since it was established in 2020.
According to the team’s website, Patrick Mahomes joined his wife in the ownership group in 2023.
Ever since then, the couple has been actively supporting the team and helping it grow. They have been seen attending multiple Current games in the past, including the club’s 2025 season opener against the Portland Thorns in March.

Now, on Tuesday, the power couple saw the fruits of their efforts and investment as Forbes revealed the club’s latest valuation. In just five seasons since it started NWSL play, it has now become the second-most valuable franchise in the league at $275 million.

The Current also generated the most revenue in 2024 with $36 million.
“We’re making the game better for female footballers and fans across the world,” the Current wrote in an Instagram post, along with a graphic showing the Forbes data.
“We’re still building our blueprint. We’ve only just begun.”
After the Current posted the update, Brittany Mahomes herself couldn’t be prouder of how much the team has grown.
In the comments section of the post, the 29-year-old mother of three expressed her delight by posting multiple “clapping” and “100” emojis. The fitness entrepreneur also liked the post.
Brittany Mahomes was also among the first ones to react when Forbes itself revealed the most valuable NWSL franchises. She took to Instagram Stories to share the news, although she didn’t write any caption.

Making things even better for the Mahomeses, Forbes projects that the “price tags” of NWSL franchises “will keep rising” as the league continues to increase in popularity.
