49ers’ Nick Bosa Sends Strong Message About Rookie Pass Rusher originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

The San Francisco 49ers are hoping to bounce back strong in 2025 after a rough 2024 NFL season.

After being the best team in the NFC and losing in overtime of the Super Bowl to the Kansas City Chiefs just two years ago, last season did not go as planned for San Francisco.

The 49ers finished the year with a 6-11 record and disappointingly missed the playoffs.

While the team did not play well as a whole, injuries played a major factor in their down season. Among the star players who dealt with injuries were quarterback Brock Purdy, running back Christian McCaffrey, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, and defensive end Nick Bosa.

It’s hard to win football games in the NFL with so many key injury issues.

Bosa is back and looking healthy for the 2025 season. However, he’s also excited about a new teammate that San Francisco brought in to play alongside him.

Former Georgia standout pass-rusher Mykel Williams was drafted with the No. 11 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, and Bosa likes what he has seen from the young defensive end so far.

Recently, he spoke out and sent a bold message about his rookie pass-rushing mate.

“A lot of eagerness to learn, more so than I have seen probably from a young guy,” Bosa said. “He just wants to learn as much as he can. And I’m excited to give all the knowledge I can to him. I think he’s got a ton of talent, so the sky’s the limit.”

As for the 27-year-old pass-rusher himself, Bosa is ready to put together another big season as well.

He played in 14 games last year, racking up 52 tackles, nine sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, an interception, and a defended pass.

Everything will start for the 49ers on Sept. 7 when they hit the road for the season opener against the Seattle Seahawks.
