Former New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is expected to sign a one-year deal ahead of minicamp to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo.
That puts the legendary quarterback in the New England Patriots‘ crosshairs when the Steelers travel to Foxborough for a Week 3 matchup in the 2025 season. Rodgers went 1-1 against the Patriots with the Jets last season. He racked up 3,897 passing yards, 20 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in a year where the team finished with a 5-12 record.

Now, Rodgers will look to captain a Steelers squad that finished second in the AFC North last year.
The Steelers had a top-10 defense last season, but they weren’t able to produce on the offensive side of the ball enough to make a real run.
Does Rodgers have enough left in the tank to help the franchise turn things around? The Patriots will have an opportunity to be one of the teams to answer that question early in another head-to-head matchup with the future Hall of Fame quarterback.
