Coming off an amazing season, and with a superstar in Jayden Daniels to build around, Washington was simply adding a bit to the already strong roster.

It only had two picks before Day 3, but overall the value wasn’t bad for what the staff had to work with. However, not all the needs – as relatively slight as they are – weren’t addressed well enough with this class.

It’s not a bad class. There just isn’t a lot to work with. If Oregon OT Josh Conerly isn’t great, there isn’t too much there.

Washington Commanders 2025 Draft Class

1 (29) Josh Conerly, OT Oregon
2 (61) Trey Amos, CB Ole Miss
4 (128) Jaylin Lane, WR Virginia Tech
6 (205) Kain Medrano, LB UCLA
7 (245) Jacory Croskey-Merritt, RB Arizona

What Went Right?
The Commanders ended up with just five draft picks and three were on Day 3. However, they got strong value for Jaylin Lane after he slipped about a round too far, and there aren’t any big reaches. Josh Conerly was a wee bit of one, but not really – there weren’t any other options.

What Went Wrong?
Conerly is a nice pick to help protect the franchise, but Jayden Daniels didn’t get a whole lot of help. Corner was a bigger need, and Washington took Conerly one pick before lighting fast corner Maxwell Hairston went to Buffalo.

Best Value Pick: Trey Amos, CB Ole Miss
