The Wisconsin Badgers seem to be close to landing one of their top targets in the 2026 class, as several recruiting experts have logged crystal balls for them to land four-star Amari Latimer.
Latimer, a native of Georgia, had put together a strong list of top schools, which included Wisconsin, Georgia, Texas, Michigan, Tennessee, and Florida State.
But, the Badgers got the first official visit and are all-in on the four-star, who is ranked as the No. 13 running back in the country, according to Rivals.
Now, On3’s Steve Wiltfong, 247Sports’s Jon McNamara, and 247Sports’s Evan Flood have all logged crystal balls for Latimer to land at Wisconsin, which would be a big boost to the team’s 2026 recruiting class.
Wisconsin canceled official visits with running back targets Jamal Rule and Nelsyn Wheeler, going all-in with Latimer, but also showing their belief that the four-star would end up in Madison.
After not landing a running back in the 2025 class, the position was a priority in this cycle, and Latimer is exactly what Wisconsin is looking for to fill that spot. It helped that his brother, cornerback Geimere Latimer, transferred in from Jacksonville State this offseason, but the Badgers did a great job recruiting here.
Now, it seems they’re close to the finish line, potentially beating out quite the list of offers for one of the top running backs in the country.
