Kyren Williams has enjoyed consecutive 1,000-yard seasons for the Los Angeles Rams since he became the team’s full-time starter. And while he has a little more competition in the backfield after the drafting of Jarquez Hunter, Williams should be one of the better running backs in the league in 2025.

Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton is bullish on Williams’ season as he enters a contract year, too. He picked Williams as one of five running backs who could win the NFL rushing title this season. Moton pointed out that Williams already got close once (in 2023) when he finished third with 1,144 yards despite missing four games. This past season, Williams finished seventh among his peers with 1,299 yards.

“With a big-money extension on the way, Williams will continue to be the Rams’ featured tailback even if Blake Corum or rookie Jarquez Hunter takes on a complementary role out of the backfield,” Moton wrote. “Until one of the Rams’ backup running backs earns a notable number of touches, Williams will be among the top rushers in carries and yards.”

Williams has seen a sizable snap share over the past two seasons. He played in 87% of the team’s offensive snaps in 2024 after playing in 82% in 2023. Despite his fumbling issues (eight in two seasons), Williams remains a stalwart in the Rams’ offense. The two young backups aren’t a threat to that — yet.
