‘Blessing to give back,’ Texans’ Will Anderson Jr. presents $56,000 to Houston Food Bank in H-E-B partnership

  • June 6, 2025

HOUSTON – Will Anderson Jr. and his mom, Tereon, were busy Friday morning building and packing boxes of meals for senior citizens at the Houston Food Bank.

The Texans’ Pro Bowl defensive end is a fixture in the community.

Anderson presented a check for $56,000 to the Houston Food Bank in support of kids and families in need in partnership with H-E-B and its Sacks for Hunger program.

The Texans set a franchise record with 49 sacks, including Anderson, a former NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year recording a career-high 11 sacks, in addition to the team piling up seven more sacks in the playoffs.

This donation will provide 168,000 meals across the Greater Houston area. Since its inception in 2008, the Sacks for Hunger program has led to more than one million meals for children and families in the region.

“I just want to say I’m blessed to partner with H-E-B to celebrate our franchise record of 56 sacks and raising $56,000 to give back to the Houston Food Bank,” Anderson said. “It’s really a blessing to give back to this community. Not just what we do on Sundays, but also for the community any way we can do it. Very appreciate of the Houston Food Bank and H-E-B, let’s keep it going.”
