The AFC North division just got a tad more interesting with the Pittsburgh Steelers finally acquiring their starting quarterback for the 2025 season.

Pittsburgh breathed a sigh of relief when veteran gunslinger Aaron Rodgers came around to agreeing on a free agent contract, becoming the new face of one of the league’s most storied franchises.

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh had a straightforward response upon hearing the news.

“I don’t even really have a reaction, just respect,” Harbaugh said, via Jamison Hensley of ESPN.

“Respect for the Steelers, obviously, respect of the team that they have, the coaches that they have, head coach — coach [Mike] Tomlin. And, obviously, we’ve always respected Aaron Rodgers as a quarterback. He’s a Hall of Fame quarterback.”

Like many of us, Harbaugh probably came to the realization months ago that he could see Rodgers twice a year. Now that it’s official, he can get to work on game planning how to attack this rivalry.

The Ravens, who have owned the crown in the AFC North as of late and are expected to win the division again in this season, split the series with Pittsburgh last season.

In Week 11, Baltimore was on the losing end of a low-scoring affair that saw Steelers kicker Chris Boswell dominate with six field goals in an 18-16 final.

In Week 16, the Ravens would get revenge with a 25-17 victory.

However, adding Rodgers and star receiver DK Metcalf completely retools the Steelers’ offensive attack. They may also feature a rookie running back in Kaleb Johnson with Najee Harris darting to the Los Angeles Chargers in free agency.

Rodgers has only played Baltimore four times in his career, making three starts – all of which were against Harbaugh-led teams. The 41-year-old has had the Ravens’ number with a 3-0 record in those games.

The last meeting came in 2021 when Rodgers’ old Green Bay Packers held off the Ravens in an exciting 31-30 finish.

Harbaugh added: “So, we’ll have to go against a Hall of Fame quarterback with one of the premier teams in the league, who happens to be our arch rival.

“So, we’ll be preparing for that.”
