Cincinnati Bengals visit Wright-Patterson Air Force Base

  • June 7, 2025

DAYTON, Ohio (WXIX) – The Cincinnati Bengals Rookies spent some time away from the practice field today and took a team trip to Wright Patterson Air Force Base, running a skills camp for the kids and military families living on base.

Before they got to the skills camp Bengals Players got to learn a little bit about operations here on base and enjoyed a luncheon with the airmen and women here at the Wright Patt Banquet Hall.

“They put a lot of work and effort into keeping our country safe so it’s the least we could do,” top Bengals draft pick, Shamar Stewart, told FOX19 NOW.

He and a group of other rookies for the Cincinnati Bengals hit the road this morning for the Wright Patterson Airforce Base.

Part of the Bengals’ mission Friday while on base was to learn a little about what operations here are like.

“They’re engaged in this, they’re engaged in knowing how these people are as well. They’re not just worried about just the job, but overall how this job affects them, how this job is shown to the people, how this job supports this mission,” said Airman First Class Desmond Euell.

Senior Airman Presley Sand said it was an honor to meet the Bengals rookies.

“Meeting these people, they’re just so approachable, they’re talkable, they sit on the bus and they give you their life story like it’s nothing,” he said.

Dozens of kids who live on base got to catch passes and run drills with Bengals players.

“I can’t compare my life to them but I know when I was a kid and NFL players would come back and do a camp, I was star-struck and I wanted to be like the NFL player. So, I feel like it could impact their lives in the right direction to accomplish their dreams,” Stewart said.

Bengals players are back in Cincinnati for mandatory practices next week and then they get a short break before training camp in late July.
