A New England Patriots team plane recently made a trip to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, according to flight records.

The purpose of the trip remains unclear, but the plane’s visit to the infamous U.S. military base, now used as a detention center for deportees and immigrants, has sparked questions.

The Patriots own two planes available for charter, and team owner Robert Kraft has previously used them for personal projects, including aid missions.

The Trump administration has utilized Guantanamo Bay as a detention site for deportees and as a waypoint for immigrants sent to the Centro de Confinamiento del Terrorismo, a notorious Salvadoran prison.

The Patriots plane’s trip to Guantanamo was highlighted on Monday by users on the social media platform .

Flight records show that one of the Patriots’ planes, departed from Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport in Texas around 6 a.m. local time and arrived at Guantanamo Bay a few hours later.

Last year, the Patriots entered a long-term agreement with Omni Air International, a subsidiary of Air Transport Services Group, to manage two Boeing 767-300 passenger aircraft for team travel and other chartered flights, including “humanitarian and goodwill flights on behalf of the Kraft family, and as available for Omni’s other charter customers,” according to a press release.
