Now that the 2025 Draft is freshly finished, it’s time for the way-early projections for next year to start rolling out.
The latest comes from Dan Brugler of The Athletic, with a mock that can be looked at as more of a “watch list” for next year’s prospects.
In it, the Jets have the No. 2 overall pick (the order comes from flipping the current Super Bowl odds for next year). Brugler has them taking quarterback LaNorris Sellers out of South Carolina.
“With his dual-threat skills, Sellers was one of the most entertaining college quarterbacks to watch last season,” Brugler wrote. “It is probably too early to be talking about him this early in the draft, but that will change if he takes another step in his development as a passer.”
Last year was Seller’s first season as a full-time starter for the Gamecocks, and he emerged as a star, tossing 2,534 yards, 18 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
For this year, the Jets found their quarterback solution in Justin Fields, whom they signed to a two-year, $40 million contract with $30 million guaranteed.
