The Kansas City Chiefs selected wide receiver Jalen Royals in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL draft to add depth to their receiving corps, which was decimated by injuries last season.
While the prospect of having a rookie contributor play significant snaps is alluring, the Chiefs’ coaching staff will count on returning veterans like Rashee Rice for the bulk of their production in the passing game next season.
Rice saw his 2024 campaign end prematurely after sustaining a serious knee injury last September, but should be poised to make a tremendous comeback, judging from this video of a recent training session he participated in:
It remains unclear exactly when Rice is expected to return to action, but given that he already seems to be moving smoothly in workouts, it doesn’t seem like a stretch to think that he could be ready to play in time for the 2025 regular season.
Stay tuned to see how Rice progresses over the next few months before training camp.
