The Tampa Bay Buccaneers sent a message to their linebacker group during the NFL Draft, seemingly happy with the group’s situation despite not adding anyone during the three-day event.

The group is, of course, led by future Hall of Famer Lavonte David, who is backed up by Sirvocea Dennis, who is coming off a shoulder injury from the 2024 season. While expectations for Dennis remain high, one analyst thinks the team should take a gamble on an outside the box free agent candidate that could be low-risk-high-reward.

Leigh Oleszczak of Pewter Plank has floated the idea of the Bucs adding the disruptive former 49ers linebacker, De’Vondre Campbell.

Campbell joined the 49ers in 2024 after a three-year stint with the Packers, where he was named an All-Pro at one point. He was released after playing in 13 games with San Francisco when he and the team had a falling out that resulted in a weird public breakup that got gross by the end of it all.

The Bucs have shown they can handle a variety of personalities and mindsets. Campbell could be the ultimate test, but he will likely be signed for cheap if they approach him. The cost would be small, the reward could be high, that seems to be right down Jason Licht’s alley.
