The Atlanta Falcons are looking to return to the playoffs for the first time since 2017, the year after blowing a 28-3 lead in the Super Bowl. Since that season, they have not gone over .500, with last season being their best record since 2017.

The Falcons have made many new additions on the defense and are hoping that rookies Jalon Walker and James Pearce Jr. can be the necessity for the defensive line that they need. Ruke Orhorhoro is looking to have a healthy season as well and help out that line.

With Michael Penix Jr. showing flashes in 2024 after taking over for Kirk Cousins, there is a lot of hype around him, and how he can pair up with Bijan Robinson, Drake London, Darnell Mooney and Kyle Pitts. If Pitts has the breakout season that he is capable of having, then the Falcons could realistically be looking at a top 10-15 offense in the league.

On the defensive side, Jesse Bates will look to continue playing at a pro bowl level with other players like Dee Alford, and A.J. Terrell are still looking to take that next step in the secondary.

With the Saints not fully sure who will be starting quarterback Week 1, and the Panthers still trying to figure out some things, the main issue in this division will continue to be Tampa Bay, but in 2024 the Falcons were 2-0 against them including the 509-yard performance by Cousins early in the season.

The Falcons have all the tools, now they just need to work it all together.
