The Indianapolis Colts will face Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 9 of the 2025 season.

The Indianapolis Colts are set to face the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road in Week 9 of the upcoming NFL season, and now a part of that matchup will be Aaron Rodgers.

According to multiple outlets, Rodgers plans to fly to Pittsburgh this week to sign a one-year deal and then participate in the team’s minicamp practices next week.

Before the addition of Rodgers, the Steelers’ quarterback room consisted of Mason Rudolph, Will Howard, and Skylar Thompson.

Rodgers spent the last two seasons with the New York Jets and returned to action in 2024 after suffering an Achilles injury in Week 1 of the 2023 season.

Rodgers finished last season completing 63% of his passes at 6.7 yards per attempt with 28 touchdowns to 11 interceptions. The Jets would win just five games, and the offense averaged 19.9 points per game, which ranked 24th.

The Colts faced Rodgers and the Jets last season in Week 11, winning that game on a late scoring drive led by Anthony Richardson. Rodgers was efficient, completing 22-of-29 passes with two touchdowns, but threw for only 184 yards, per PFF.

Since then, the Colts defense has added heavily to their secondary, signing Charvarius Ward and Cam Bynum in free agency, not to mention that they also brought in Lou Anarumo to lead the defense.

Rodgers’ top target with the Steelers will be DK Metcalf, who Pittsburgh acquired earlier this offseason from Seattle in a trade.
