It didn’t take long for the recent drama involving Washington Commanders All-Pro wide receiver Terry McLaurin to lead to fantasy trades from New England Patriots fans.

McLaurin has been one of the most productive wideouts in the NFL for five straight seasons with 77-plus receptions and 1,000-plus receiving yards.

Can you blame them?

The star wideout is entering the final year of his contract, and he is reportedly frustrated that he hasn’t been extended long-term by the team. Both sides have worked behind the scenes on a new deal, but there has been a lack of progress in those talks, per NFL insider Jordan Schultz.

McLaurin left voluntary workouts due to contract frustrations, and there are no guarantees he’ll show up at mandatory minicamp. That has led some NFL fans to ponder if the Patriots should consider calling the Commanders to see if McLaurin is available.

Washington signed former All-Pro receiver Deebo Samuel in the offseason, and they also drafted rookie Jaylin Lane out of Virginia Tech. Would they be willing to part ways with their leading receiver after making it all the way to the NFC Championship Game last season?
