The New England Patriots are preparing for a new season under new head coach Mike Vrabel, who opened his first minicamp at Gillette Stadium on Monday. The full team returned to the practice field, including quarterback Drake Maye, who was seen working with offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, Stefon Diggs and rookie Will Campbell. Questions remain about how Vrabel plans to turn around a team that has struggled to find its identity since longtime quarterback Tom Brady left in March of 2020.”This is just an extension of the last 9 or 10 days that we’ve had on the field. And again, that’s going to look the same there. Just the only difference is that there’s, the time constraint isn’t the same. We’re not under the same time. So we’re going to continue on with our installation,” Vrabel said.>> Download the free WMUR app to get updates on the go: Apple | Google Play <> Subscribe to WMUR’s YouTube channel <<
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. —
Questions remain about how Vrabel plans to turn around a team that has struggled to find its identity since longtime quarterback Tom Brady left in March of 2020.
“This is just an extension of the last 9 or 10 days that we’ve had on the field. And again, that’s going to look the same there. Just the only difference is that there’s, the time constraint isn’t the same. We’re not under the same time. So we’re going to continue on with our installation,” Vrabel said.

Energy was high at camp as Vrabel focused on building the team so it will carry over into game day.
“I love the ideas that everybody’s been able to bring. And then hopefully we can blend it here in training camp,” he said.
“The Patriots are used to winning, and that’s what we want to get back to,” Maye said. “We want people to expect you to play good, and I think that pressure is what pushes you to play good and not what happened last year to happen again.”
The team is scheduled to practice again Tuesday before wrapping up minicamp on Wednesday.
