The Los Angeles Rams didn’t overhaul their roster during the 2025 offseason, but they made enough moves to remain one of the best teams in the NFL.
L.A. retained Matthew Stafford, added Davante Adams and drafted a bevy of players who can contribute across the roster. They also came away with an extra 2026 first-round pick they could save for next year or use to acquire another veteran before the season starts.
But was that enough to fix the issues that befell this team in 2024? Yahoo Sports’ Frank Schwab wasn’t so bullish. He wrote that the Rams’ 2025 offseason fell right in the middle of the league in terms of what they accomplished. Schwab gave L.A. a B- for the team’s moves through this point in the NFL calendar.
“The Rams did well to upgrade from Cooper Kupp to Davante Adams. Re-signing left tackle Alaric Jackson was big,” Schwab wrote. “But many of their draft picks seemed odd, and they did practically nothing to help a secondary that needed some work.”
Schwab’s points are sound: The Rams made quality moves to solve some of its issues, but not all. The secondary was arguably the least-successful part of the Rams’ 2025 season, too, and the lack of upgrades is concerning.
The draft class is good, too, but not exemplary. Terrance Ferguson and Jarquez Hunter could be contributors on offense or bench players in 2025. Josaiah Stewart is exciting, but undersized for an edge rusher. Ty Hamilton and Konata Mumpfield is a depth pieces, while Chris Paul Jr. seems to be most likely to see significant action to open the year.
There could be more moves left to be made, though, with the season still a few months away.
