In addition to reaching agreements with 15 undrafted free agents, the Denver Broncos have also invited at least 16 players to try out at rookie minicamp next week.
We have been tracking the team’s rookie minicamp invites on our UDFA tracker page, and the list could continue to grow as more invites are reported.
Among those invited to camp are running back Travis Theis (South Dakota), wide receiver Max McLeod (Colorado School of Mines), edge rusher Makeah Scippio (CSU Pueblo), safety C.J. Baskerville (Texas Tech) and kicker John Hoyland (Wyoming).
Theis rushed 187 times for 1,172 yards and 19 touchdowns with the Coyotes last fall, adding 33 receptions for 385 yards and two scores as a receiver out of the backfield.
Scippio posted 13 tackles behind the line, 10 sacks, one interception, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery with the ThunderWolves in 2024.
Baskerviller recorded eight tackles behind the line, nine pass breakups and six interceptions in two seasons with the Red Raiders.
In four seasons at the Division II level, McLeod hauled in 290 receptions for 4,688 yards and 54 touchdowns with the Orediggers.
Veteran Wil Lutz is the only kicker on Denver’s roster, so Hoyland was brought in as a camp leg. He converted 79.3% of his field goal attempts from 2020-2024 with college football’s Cowboys, accounting for 366 career points.
Note that linebacker LaVonta Bentley (Colorado) will attend the Cincinnati Bengals‘ rookie camp this weekend. Depending on how that tryout goes, Bentley might also attend Denver’s camp the following weekend, according to the Denver Gazette’s Chris Tomasson.
