The Washington Commanders opened their mandatory minicamp Tuesday with everyone in attendance except wide receiver Terry McLaurin. McLaurin will not attend the minicamp as he and the team work on a contract extension. McLaurin is entering the final year of a three-year extension he signed in 2022.
While McLaurin wasn’t on the field, newcomers Deebo Samuel and Laremy Tunsil were. Samuel has been with the team throughout the offseason program, while Tunsil skipped the voluntary OTAs as he had done in previous years with the Houston Texans.
Also back on the field was cornerback Marshon Lattimore. Acquired last year in a midseason trade, Lattimore struggled after the trade as he dealt with a recurring hamstring injury. Lattimore skipped the voluntary portion of the offseason.
Of course, there was also quarterback Jayden Daniels.
It was a beautiful day in Ashburn for Day 1 of minicamp. Here are some sights and sounds from those in attendance.
