Former Oregon State safety Jack Kane has a new home.
After entering the transfer portal earlier this month, Kane announced on Tuesday he is transferring to Rice for his final year of eligibility.
Kane, a redshirt senior, had 32 tackles, two interceptions and a forced fumble last season for OSU, appearing in 12 games.
Kane joined OSU as a walk-on in 2021 out of Fountain Valley High School (California). After not seeing the field his freshman year, he played in 10 games in 2022 and nine in 2023, amassing 25 tackles between those seasons. He was then put on scholarship prior to the 2024 season.
In his transfer announcement, Kane rocked a cowboy hat and Owl chain — a nod to the team’s mascot.
