Count Cincinnati Bengals running back Chase Brown among those happy with where the offense is heading in 2025 under new line coach Scott Peters.
After a breakout season as the lead back for the Bengals and no competition added for his role, only supporting pieces around him, Brown talked at mandatory camp about the changes.

“It’s exactly how I ran it at Illinois. It will be awesome,” Brown said, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. “We’re going to be a more downhill team this year. Eliminate some negative plays. Keep ahead of the chains. That’s what matters in this league. Staying ahead of schedule. It’s extremely important and I think it’s going to help us a lot.”

There’s a notable emphasis on fewer negative runs this summer. That sounds obvious, but quicker-hitting running plays could help a year removed from Brown’s 990 yards and seven scores on a 4.3 average.
The Bengals added Samaje Perine in free agency to compete with the contract-revamped Zack Moss and will likely start two new guards on the offensive line with free-agent addition Lucas Patrick and rookie Dylan Fairchild.

Now, Brown and the Bengals have the summer to make it all work, but the first positive review from the most important piece of all is a good sign for the revamped unit.
