The Tennessee Titans are in the middle of their final minicamp before saying goodbye to the field until training camp. However, this doesn’t mean that the activities around the team will stop until August. The Titans are in a place where they can continue to work the roster and add some pieces if they deem it necessary.

One area they could address is linebacker, with an open competition for the starting spot next to Cody Barton still ongoing.

During his media availability, head coach Brian Callahan was asked about the battle and whether the Titans would be interested in linebacker Germaine Pratt, who the Cincinnati Bengals recently released—a logical question considering Callahan’s familiarity with Pratt during his time coaching with the Bengals.

While he mentioned that the team would do their due diligence, it was his comments on the salary cap situation that were notable.

Callahan suggested that Tennessee enters this stage of the offseason with “flexibility” and the ability to add a bigger contract if they need to. Of course, he cautioned that just because they have the money available, it “doesn’t mean we are going to” add someone from the outside.

Breaking down the Titans on Sportrac, Tennessee still has $30.7 million in cap space available for the 2025 season and only one player left unsigned: second-round pick Femi Oladejo. This does give the Titans a lot of flexibility when it comes to fine-tuning their roster before the start of the 2025 season.

They could also give themselves a chance to lock up a couple of their veterans with extensions, with safety Amani Hooker or cornerback Roger McCreary likely targets if they decide to go that route. What they will do remains a mystery at this point, but they will undoubtedly take a calculated approach to whatever they choose.
