The Carolina Panthers are taking it easy with their first-round pick.
Wednesday’s outing of mandatory minicamp, the second of three on the week, did not feature wideout Tetairoa McMillan. Early reports from the practice field in Charlotte indicated that the team was holding out the rookie receiver for precautionary reasons.

Head coach Dave Canales would later clarify the decision to sideline McMillan, who apparently took a kick during Tuesday’s session.
“Yeah, TMac’s fine,” Canales told reporters afterwards. “Went down for a ball, got kicked in the leg, it swelled up. So we, just as a precautionary, just sat him out today. Hopefully, we get him back out tomorrow.”
Considering we’re still in the lighter stage of workouts for the offseason, Carolina’s call to sit McMillan shouldn’t be a surprising one.
The team will finish out their mandatory minicamp with a final practice on Thursday.
