Earlier this month legendary punter Dustin Colquitt announced his retirement after 15 seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs.
He signed a one-day contract to retire with the team despite not playing in the NFL since the 2021 season. “I love being in this building … I got to be in these halls for a long time,” Colquitt said. “It was special seeing all the coaches. I got to see all my buddies again…I’m very proud that I got to be a part of this for as long as I did.”

The two-time Super Bowl champion isn’t the only member of the team riding off into the sunset, though. On Wednesday, June 11, the Chiefs announced veteran special teams coach Andy Hill is retiring after winning two Super Bowls with the Chiefs.
“Thank you for helping us make our special teams extra special, Coach Hill. Congratulations on a well-earned retirement!” the team said in a statement.
Hill took over in 2020 and helped the team to four Super Bowl appearances with two wins. The Kansas City special teams unit is led by veteran coach Dave Toub, who also serves as the assistant head coach to Andy Reid.

Hill previously coached at the University of Missouri where he was on the staff for 24 years starting as the wide receivers coach before working his way up to becoming assistant head coach before his jump to the NFL. He had a short stint with the Chiefs following his playing days at Missouri, where he hauled in 51 passes for 946 yards and scored seven touchdowns during his collegiate career.
