SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – Wednesday was the second and final day of mandatory minicamp for the Falcons. Whereas most of the focus on Tuesday was on Kirk Cousins and the drama at the quarterback position, day two was a day to highlight the rookies.
Former Georgia Bulldog and edge rusher Jalon Walker is one of the new guys in the building that the organization is excited about, and already, head coach Raheem Morris is talking about Walker’s captain-like tendencies. Walker, meanwhile, is just focusing on growing a connection with his teammates.
“Just having that space just to be able to connect with these guys and learn their names and where they’re from and their background and how they play and just what they do on a day-to-day basis — that’s how you build and grow relationships and connections throughout the team,” said Walker. “I always knew and learned from an old guy named Coach Smart that a connected front is the best front, and the way we attack the ball together is what we do well.”
