The New Orleans Saints are working out another UFL offensive lineman during minicamp as they continue their push to add depth to the trenches. On Tuesday, the team is hosting offensive tackle Barry Wesley of the Birmingham Stallions for a workout according to KPRC2’s NFL reporter Aaron Wilson.

The 6-foot-6, 312-pound lineman brings impressive size and a versatile background. Wesley began his collegiate career at Colorado State, where he was a four-year contributor and logged 38 starts across multiple positions along the offensive line.

Not selected in the 2022 NFL draft, Wesley began his pro journey with the Massachusetts Pirates of the Indoor Football League. In 2023, he made the leap to the XFL, signing with the Seattle Sea Dragons.

Later that year, Wesley signed with the Atlanta Falcons‘ practice squad, where he spent most of the 2023 season. After being released in 2024, he transitioned to the UFL, joining the Birmingham Stallions continuing his journey in the pros.

The Saints are clearly keeping a close eye on alternative leagues as they look to strengthen their offensive line rotation. With now-left guard Trevor Penning under pressure to step up in 2025, adding competition across the line is of high priority. Currently, the team has veterans such Landon Young, Will Clapp and recent addition Dillon Radunz to work with as rotational players, but there’s always value in adding more guys to the mix.
